Avro Heritage Museum

Avro Heritage Museum Map

The Avro Heritage Museum opened on 13 November 2015 and is located on the former Woodford Aerodrome in greater Manchester.

The exhibition includes an Avro Vulcan B2 bomber which is to be on permanent display adjacent to the museum as well as Avro Heritage Trust's collection of over 30,000 artefacts on aircraft development.

History
Avro Heritage Museum, in Woodford, opened on 13th November 2015 and has replaced the former Avro Heritage Centre.

The former Avro Heritage Centre had five rooms containing displays and photos about AVRO, including models of aircraft designs. As part of the deal to sell Woodford Aerodrome for redevelopment in December 2011, BAE agreed to fund a new heritage centre on the site.

The new Avro Heritage Museum is now in the former fire station of the aerodrome and has an exhibition hall, a gallery, a cafe, reading rooms, and classrooms. The new museum is 70% larger than the previous centre.
