East Kirkby Airshow 2025

East Kirkby Airshow 2025

East Kirkby Airshow - B-17 Flying Fortress.

East Kirkby Airshow is Lincolnshire's biggest independent air show and usually takes place at the beginning of August each year.

The air show helps to raise funds for the on-going restoration of Avro Lancaster (NX611) 'Just Jane' which can be seen making taxi runs at the show. As well as the air display there will be trade stalls, vintage cars, Military vehicles, re-enactors and much more to give you an excellent family day out.

East Kirkby is also home to a de Havilland Mosquito NF.11 (HJ711) which is the only existing version of this variant in the world. The Lancaster and Mosquito can be seen performing regular taxy runs from May to November at East Kirkby Airfield.

East Kirkby History

RAF East Kirkby opened on 20 August 1943 as a Bomber Command Station and Lancasters were based here.

Today, East Kirkby is home to an air museum, Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre with its main exhibit being Avro Lancaster Mk.VII (NX611) 'Just Jane'. The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre is a family run museum which was set up over 20 years ago. It is now widely seen as a living memorial to the 55,500 men of Bomber Command who lost their lives during WW2.

The East Kirkby Airshow usually takes place at the beginning of August each year to raise funds for the on-going restoration of Avro Lancaster (NX611) 'Just Jane'. East Kirkby is also home to a de Havilland Mosquito NF.11 (HJ711) which is the only existing version of this variant in the world. Both these aircraft perform regular taxy runs at East Kirkby Airfield from May to November. More details can be found on the official website.
