Guernsey Air Display brought forward to 13th June 2024 due to Red Arrows Tour.
There are currently two main airshows in the Channel islands:
• Jersey International Air Display
• Guernsey Air Display
The Jersey 'Battle of Britain Air Display' first took place in 1952. Alongside the air display itself the event also boast two major static displays of aircraft, one at Jersey Airport and the other in Peoples' Park, St Helier, adjacent to the 'arena area' along Victoria Avenue, which for many spectators is the favoured vantage point. This free annual event was renamed the 'Jersey International Air Display' in 1997 to reflect a move by the organisers to include a number of international aircraft alongside its traditional RAF participants.
The Guernsey Air Display began in 1967 and was originally called the 'Guernsey Battle of Britain Air Display'. The origins of the show go back to over fifty years ago when the aircraft who were participating in the Jersey Battle of Britain Air Display, practiced in the morning over Guernsey. In September 1967, Lord Sandhurst converted the annual practice sessions into a formal Guernsey based event.
The Jersey International Air Display was cancelled in 2020 due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) although the Guernsey Air Display 2020 went ahead. Both displays took place in 2021.
